A NOTE FROM THE ARTISTRebobsFor decades, people have spoken (in whispers) of "rebobs", winged monkey creatures who live in the Napa Valley. As Partrick Road winds its way up Mt. Veeder, rebobs are thought to hide in the shadows. The reason is still unclear for their seclusion. Perhaps they just like to play hide and seek, or maybe they feel misunderstood.
Legend tells us that rebobs are descendants of ring-tailed monkeys (known in the California Gold Country as ring-tailed cats), bobcats, turkey vultures, and sea anemones. Residents of Partrick Road have seen both bobcats and turkey vultures. Rebobs have not yet been captured on film or by digital photography. Since I live on Partrick Rd, I have studied rebobs and was able to capture them on canvas. Over the years, we have learned to live in peace. As long as we agree to pick up our litter, they agree to pick up their banana peels. There’s much more to say. Thank you for viewing my paintings of this IMAGINARY creature.
